Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our cool 1968 Commer Autosleeper.  Never seen one? Thought it was a VW? Yep, this is something your friends don’t have.  It lights people up at  Cars and Coffee and is great to get the kids out camping or at the beach.

Commer was a British marque that made commercial vehicles like vans and buses for over 100 years, primarily for the home UK market.  Originally this camper was sold in Canada, which explains the left hand drive.  Eventually it made its way to Washington State where the local Sunbeam club is said to have performed a light mechanical restoration.  She is very original and runs excellently.

Rarity

You won’t likely see another Commer in the USA.  There are very few. You will see plenty of VW vans and Westfalia campers.  Get ready for conversations because everyone does a double take.

The original paint shows patina and some light rust along with a couple whiskey kisses that just add to the overall weathered look outside.   No impact evidence or aftermarket paintwork is seen indicating a “no hit” life.

Panasport wheels and radial tires

The 1725 cc Sunbeam Alpine engine runs well.  This is a traditional front engine, rear wheel drive vehicle.

4 Speed Transmission  Brakes serviced

Cool retro interior with plenty of cabinets, convertible dining table/bed, kids cot, Pop top and of course, a record player via the 110 inverter. Beautiful period English woodwork.

The California title is clean and in my name.   Insured and plated.
