1969 Citroen Ami 6 Break

    Citroen Ami 6 Break

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at this very cool 1969 Citroen Ami Break.  This Cool French classic is rarely seen in the US though many were manufactured.  She carries an interesting story to support the excellent condition.  Let’s check it out!

    The Story:

The best selling French car in its day,the Ami (Friend), was an Estate car on the French Riviera. It was used when away from the vineyard and on vacation. It was well protected, and used very little. It is well known that these cars are prone to rust and decay, hence the few remaining cars.  This one was sourced from its Southern French estate and because of its amazing condition and shipped to Quebec Canada for restoration and a respray in 2014. The car was then shipped into the U.S. where it was to be a lobby centerpiece of a French business in southern California.  Plans never materialized and the car was put into storage.

Now recommissioned with a fresh tune up, carb rebuild, new points, brake work and starter to make it a pleasure to once again enjoy the road with famous soft Citroen suspension, and plenty of WOW!

Mechanicals are the same as the popular 2CV so parts are plentiful and easy to service. The Ami is an upgraded slightly larger and more upscale and more comfortable car than the 2CV. A knockout hit at any car show with lots of quirky little French styling cues that make this car charming and endearing to everyone who sees or gets to ride in this piece of French history. Certainly one of the very finest in the States. A nice portfolio addition to your stable of interesting cars.

    Inspection

Please come inspect this great car before the listing ends. We are happy to meet you and show her off. The details contained in this listing are based on our review of the vehicle and any errors or omissions are unintentional.  Please keep in mind that this is a 52 year old used car.  It will need periodic attention just as any classic does.  It is not a new car and will not be fresh and perfect like that new soul sucking Camry your Aunt Betty drives.  If that’s what you are after, this is not your era, nor your car so please move on to something boring.  Like a Prius.
