Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1959 Metropolitan She is also referred to as a Nash or AMC depending on who owned what and when. This is the one you want in the right colour, that is ready to drive and show. She’s not concours but unlike the perfect cars, you can park her and walk away for a bit too.
Very well cared for in a stable of fine collectible cars here in Orange County California
Thousands were produced yet relatively few remain in the wild today. Our research shows a few dozen cars available worldwide, most in either dire shape from rust and neglect or rarely touched show queens.
Factory correct to this car, the Blue and White paint is gorgeous. There are some flaws and wear noticeable upon close inspection. See the photos. The Chrome and stainless trim is in overall good to excellent condition. Nice accents and most importantly a complete car.
Nice interior upholstery, dash, headliner and door panels in this older restoration. No rips or tears.
13” steel wheels have been restored and five new whitewall radial tires have been added. Monogram hubcaps are nice.
Nicely kitted out 1500cc BMC engine runs great and is easily the quickest Metropolitan we’ve ever driven.
The manual transmission is excellent and working properly. New clutch master cylinder and slave. Fresh fluid.
Four wheel drum brakes. Brakes serviced. See photos. New master cylinder, wheel cylinders (6), lines and fresh fluid.
Fresh service, turnkey and ready to go.
The trim is in good to excellent shape. See pics and video.
The glass is in good to excellent condition. The windshield is new.
The odometer shows 74000 miles.
DMV / Documentation
The title is clear and all documentation is included. No back fees are due. No smog is required for California residents. Very low cost Antique registration and insurance for most US States. A binder pictures, detailed information, receipts and specs.
There is a nice variety of Metro’s available at any given time. Perhaps 50 to choose from in various stages of wear. Basket cases are expensive to restore and fully restored show cars often are relegated to artwork status, given their level of perfection. This Metro is a nice driver quality car that has been serviced and maintained. Given the scarcity of available cars in this condition, this Metropolitan represents an outstanding value that can be enjoyed immediately as well as being an appreciating investment in automotive art.
Had one of these back in the day? Yep, they were around and now you hardly see one. This one puts you back in 1959 with all the look and feel of proper British motoring in an icon of the realm. The feel and sound of this Metropolitan will melt the years away at the first turn of her key.
